In memory of Maria Antonia Farace:

Many people claim to be the original creators of Italy's most popular digestif, but along the Amalfi Coast the locals attribute its origins to a woman named Maria Antonia Farace.

Maria was an innkeeper on the island of Capri in the early 20th century, she owned a small guesthouse on the island and tended a garden of lemon trees.

it is believed by many in the region that Maria Antonia Farace created the first ever limoncello recipe by using the lemons from her garden and laid the foundation for what is now celebrated as one of Italy’s most iconic drinks.

Only the worlds best lemons:

Santa Maria is crafted using the rugged, I.G.P. Certified lemons from the Amalfi Coast, a region famous for its breathtaking landscapes and rich agricultural heritage. These lemons, known for their powerful, zesty flavor and distinctive natural sweetness, are carefully harvested at their peak ripeness.

Grown without the use of artificial pesticides, they embody the pure essence of the Amalfi Coast and serve as the essential foundation for our Italian limoncello. Their vibrant, tangy profile is what gives Santa Maria its signature bold and refreshing taste, setting it apart as a true representation of Italian craftsmanship.

Made In amalfi:

The Santa Maria recipe is inspired by generations of master lemon growers from the heart of the Amalfi Coast. Their tradition of cultivating lemons with care and passion forms the soul of our limoncello and crema di limoncello.

Imported directly from Italy, our I.G.P. limoncello is crafted by blending time-honoured expertise with modern techniques, delivering a premium and truly authentic experience.

The journey behind Santa Maria begins in the sun-lit terraces of the Amalfi Coast, home to the renowned “Sfusato Amalfitano” lemon. Our partner, the Aceto family, have been cultivating and processing these extraordinary lemons for five generations, dating back to 1825 when their ancestor Salvatore Aceto purchased a small plot of land in Ravello to begin producing and trading this precious citrus.

In the 1960s the family expanded into the famed “Valle dei Mulini” terraces in Amalfi, establishing production of approximately 800 quintals of lemons per year from that area alone.

In the 1980s, Luigi Aceto founded the cooperativa “Cooperativa Amalfitana Trasformazione Agrumi”, one of the earliest to produce liqueur from the Amalfi-IGP lemon, and helped establish the consortium that protects the lemon’s heritage.

Today, we work in full partnership with the Aceto family, ensuring our limoncello and crema di limoncello remain entirely crafted in Italy from grove to bottle.
